The World’s Most Stringent Tests
Experts say that textiles provide the best protection against the sun. The conditions in which they are worn – abrasion, stretching and moisture, for example – may significantly decrease the protection provided by the materials. With stretchy materials, in particular, it is impossible to assess whether short-wave UV radiation will pass through the fabric’s weave when it is stretched. This is why we have chosen to comply with the world’s most stringent UV radiation testing required by Standard 801. To guarantee high-level protection that is reliable in the long term, and that remains in place during use to a degree that can be assessed, all Hyphen products must comply with that standard.
The lowest level achieved by the products in all tests is “certified”. The Australian and New Zealand Standards (AS/NZS) and the European Standard only test textiles when they are unstretched and therefore give a protection value that may significantly reduce in use.
Hyphen garments are certified according to UV Standard 801 and UPF 80. This applies to both UVA and UVB radiation and covers all conditions of use permanently.
