Hyphen products are high-quality, functional garments. Their skilfully treated high-technology fibres made from polyamide and elastane provide excellent user comfort, thanks to the breathable, light material and the highest possible protection against UVA and UVB rays, rated UPF 80.

We use Lycra to ensure lasting flexibility, because it is particularly resistant to chlorinated water. Remember, however, that UV radiation, chlorine, salt water and many components of sunscreen put any garment under great stress.

To ensure you can enjoy your Hyphen sun protective garments for as long as possible, please follow these instructions:

Rinse the product after every use. Showering while wearing the swimming costume is enough, and will also benefit your hair and skin.

Wash with a mild detergent if the product has been worn all day or if it is has come into contact with sunscreen, because waterproof sunscreen will not wash off with just water. Please note: in pools with a poor filtration system, sunscreens and sun oils may also be found on the surface of the water!

Do not bleach. Do not use fabric softener. Turn inside out before washing. Close all zippers and hook-and-loop fastenings. This will prevent holes and twisting. Wash light and dark garments separately to prevent colour bleeding. Do not keep wet for long periods. Remember to dry your garment!

Good to know:

Sunscreens may contain natural and chemical substances that affect the stability of fabrics containing elastane. Therefore only use sunscreen products that are absorbed well into the skin and, if possible, that do not contain natural oils or fats. In general, you should not wear sunscreen underneath your swimming costume.

Rough surfaces, sharp objects, hook-and-loop fastenings and straps with rough edges may coarsen the fabric or cause thread pulls. On rocky beaches and rough piers we recommend using woven swimming or board shorts instead of stretchy trunks.

Fine sand may get caught in the tightly woven material. It will fall out by rinsing or stretching the fabric or picking it off when dry.
